This award is presented to a driver mentor who, through dedication in training and safety, improves the trucking industry by impacting and influencing existing drivers, new entrants and students of the trucking industry. The ideal recipient shows courtesy on the highway, has a record of highway safety, sets an example of professionalism in the trucking industry through a strong coaching/mentoring effort and participates in his community's activities.

Driver Mentors represent a critical component of the industry's success in recruiting and retaining entry-level professional drivers and providing existing drivers with opportunities for employment growth and skills improvement through ongoing training and mentorship. This role has a direct impact on the industry image and long-term retention of professional drivers.
