The objective of the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) is to promote the trucking industry in Atlantic Canada through the lobbying of issues affecting the industry and the development of services and products for members that enhance their role in the trucking industry. The object is pursued through government and public liaison, and operations. For over 55 years, the APTA has joined together both small and large carriers, goods and service suppliers who have an interest in pursuing this objective. The APTA currently has over 400 members.

APTA Membership Benifits
On your behalf, the APTA will:
- Advocate at the municipal, provincial and federal levels of government
- Supply access to unlimited resources
- Offer guidance and information on issues facing our industry today and in the future
- Provide training opportunities for drivers, managers and owner / operators
- Expand opportunities for networking
The APTA ASSOCIATE TRADES COUNCIL acts as a liaison with other boards and councils in the APTA on matters that are of particular interest to trade members. The council also provides resources for activities and events.
The APTA SAFETY COUNCIL recommends and promotes safety within the trucking industry and works with other organizations in the safety field. This council is active in the promotion of programs to aid in the reduction of accidents and personal injuries and highlights the importance of driver`s role in the industry. The SAFETY COUNCIL is the host of the annual Regional Driving Championships and Driver Appreciation Days.
