This Scholarship was established in Kevin’s name, someone you will be familiar with, grandson of Eddie Hillman, Hillman’s Transfer in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The
Trucking Human Resource Sector Council Atlantic
is a non-profit organization. We are dedicated to
strengthening Human Resource practices for the trucking industry in
Atlantic Canada.
Key initiatives the Sector Council focuses on to support the
trucking industry are:
- Establishing and monitoring entry level professional driver standards
- Professional driver certification
- Developing recruitment and retention strategies
- Professional development for those within the trucking industry
- Promoting industry
Current projects underway:

Development of an employer of choice model to be implemented within
the trucking industry

Piloting smoking cessation tools specifically developed for the
trucking industry
- Workplace education focusing on communication programs for the trucking industry
- Recruiting new entrants into the trucking industry
