2010 - Annual Report
The Road Ahead
Before looking back, here is just some of
what 2011 has in store for APTA members.
Our Association is always looking at ways to
stay ahead of the curve, so that our members are prepared for the
future. One of the areas at issue for our industry is the aging of
our drivers (the average age in Canada is 52). In conjunction with
its other Provincial Associations, the CTA and CTHRC/THRSC, the
APTA will play an important role in bringing the next generation of
Canadians to the trucking industry. The APTA is working to
encourage educational institutions to offer training and education
to students entering the transportation field. This becomes
increasingly important, as more and more qualified people are
needed in our industry to fill different roles.
